The Students’ Welfare Section started functioning as an independent Section w.e.f. 15th April 1998.This section recommends the names of meritorious student for the award of different scholarships to different Department of Govt. of India as well as corporations and Private Organization. Besides Council has instituted a no. of scholarships. Different scholarships are as follows:
Basic on the result of Annual H.S Examination the names of 2736 (CHSE, Odisha quota) students are recommended to the Director (NS), Department of HRD, Govt of India, New Delhi for award of National Merit scholarship under Central sector scheme of College and University students.
Eligibility notes in favour of students who have passed the Annul H.S Examination are forwarded to the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Name of meritorious scheduled caste boys and girls of Annual H.S Examination are being forwarded to the Ministry of Social empowerment, Govt. of India for Dr. Ambedkar National Merit Award.
Council forwards names of best ten physically challenged Annual H.S Examination pass out students to Dhirubhai Ambani Trust, Mumbai for the above award.
Council forwards the names of regular students who have appeared the Annual H.S Examination for the above Scholarships.
The Awards carries Rs. 5000/-(Rupees Five Thousand only) and certificate which is given to a student who secures highest mark in mathematics in Annul H.S Examination.
Council organizes a number of literary competition which include Chairman’s Cup debate Competition both in Odia and English, Essay and poem writing Competition both in Odia and English language. The winners of the above literary competitions are felicitated in the Foundation Day of Council(7th September).
A number of cultural events like Music (Vocational & Classical ), extempore speech (Odia & English), Mono-action, Creative writing (Odia & English), Quiz, (Group & Individual),
Odissi dance ( solo), Instrument music, Folk dance are being organized by the Council every academic year.
Besides in order to explore the inherent talent of +2 students in games and sports, different type of events are organized by the Council at different zones all over the State. The winners (Team/Athletes) of zonal /Final /Selection trial are sent to the Tournaments / Meets organize by School Game Federation of India (SGFI).
